This congregation became the first organized church of what is now the Virginia Conference of the Pentecostal Holiness church. Land was purchased later at the corner of Fifth and Fairfax Streets. In 1916, a building was completed at a cost of $4,200.
In 1934, a new project was launched for relocating the church at the corner of 19th and Hanover Streets. This move was completed
in 1939. During the years that followed, the congregation experienced considerable growth and realized the need for expansion.
