New Life Temple was organized April 5, 1910, with 47 charter members as a Pentecostal Holiness Church in the Park Street Mission.

This congregation became the first organized church of what is now the Virginia Conference of the Pentecostal Holiness church. Land was purchased later at the corner of Fifth and Fairfax Streets.  In 1916, a building was completed at a cost of $4,200.

In 1934, a new project was launched for relocating the church at the corner of 19th and Hanover Streets.  This move was completed in 1939.  During the years that followed, the congregation experienced considerable growth and realized the need for expansion.

In 1963, seven acres of land on Airport Road were purchased.  With much excitement and anticipation the process of building a new church began.  The new building was dedicated to the Glory of God on Mother's Day of 1968.  The following year an additional five acres of land were purchased for future development.

After moving to the Airport Road location, the church name was changed to the First Pentecostal Holiness Church.

In 1977, it became known as New Life Temple

On October 7, 1990, a beautiful new worship center valued at $1,150,000 was completed and dedicated to the Lord.

Although ministries have changed through the years, our vision is . . . to Shine Christ's Light Where People Are!
